Penny let out a small giggle. She moved, re-positioning herself once more so that now she was on her knees. She moved over closer to him with the blanket still hanging loosely around her shoulders, pouting out her bottom lip as she did so. "Oh, I'm sorry, I was only trying to punish you," she told him as she finally moved closer to him, her knees gently touching his legs. Penelope leaned forward, resting her hands on his legs as she batted her eyelashes just a little bit. "Can I please have the pillow back, Sir Schmucksalot?" She questioned, still pouting.

Todd blinked, watching her scoot closer to him. She was so close now, and suddenly he was filled with longing. She was right there. He was conscious of her hands on his leg and felt a shiver race up his spine. It would only take leaning in a couple of inches, and... his head had already craned forward a bit when he caught himself, brown eyes wide and staring directly into hers. No. He knew he couldn't - not now, when she only had a handful of memories of him in her head. It didn't matter that she'd been making out with that guy; this wasn't a competition. And no matter how familiar all of this was to him, how much he ached to kiss her again, he knew that this wasn't the time.

He nudged the pillow into her lap without taking his gaze from her face. "Yes," he murmured, trying with all his might to keep the frustration out of his voice. "Yes, you may have it back, Book Girl."

Penelope blinked, suddenly aware of their closeness as Todd leaned forward just a bit and she had to fight her own primal urge to lean forward in response. He was so close that she almost thought he would... Penny bit her lip, staring into his wide brown eyes with her own wide blue ones. Her heart rate picked up slightly and she could feel her face start to flush just a bit. "Y-yes," Penelope murmured back, caught up in the intensity of the moment. When he nudged the pillow into her lap, she broke her gaze from him. "O-oh, uhm, yes, th-thank you," She stuttered, looking down a the pillow.

It wasn't as if she had wanted him to kiss her - no, she couldn't lead him on like that when she was so unsure of her own feelings, and after what happened earlier with Aladdin, it would be all too much for her... but still, there was something about how close they were that sent her brain in a tizzy, made her palms sweaty, and her heart skip a few beats. She took in a silent deep breath, grabbing the pillow into her hands and sitting down, only a few inches from Todd, but far enough away that she wasn't touching him. "Th-thank you," she managed to say again, though not without another stutter.

Todd nodded, keeping his gaze fixed on the fire for a moment before standing and stretching dramatically. "Well I, uh, should probably head up to the old dorm. Jimbo'll be worried sick about me." Not true, probably, especially if he had Evaine up there, but he hadn't seen Jim's girlfriend going to or from the tower in days, so she was probably in her own room right now. "You, uh, want anything else for your head? I could scream up the stairs for someone to help you up 'em, if you need?" His tone was still upbeat, but those seconds of tension had reminded him of the current situation - not that he could ever forget, but it wasn't something he'd been trying to think about too much. He'd still lost a part of her to her amnesia, and that was something he had to keep in mind.

Penelope jerked her head slightly as he stood up. She parted her lips; he was going up? "O-oh, uhm, okay," she offered him a small smile, though honestly had no idea who this 'Jimbo' was. Perhaps one of his new friends he had told her about at the ball. Penelope bit her lip and shook her head slightly. "N-no, that's fine..." she didn't know anyone up there and would never want to be an inconvenience to someone. "I'm fine..." her voice was softer now, but she offered him another small smile.

"Todd?" She said after a few moments, looking down for a moment before returning her gaze back up to him. "Thank you... for tonight..." for everything she added in thought. He had been so good to her, so caring... She'd honestly never forget it. She was slightly sad that he was leaving her now, but she understood and it wasn't because of exhaustion or to see his roommate. No, she felt that tension just as strongly as he had and she did not hold it against him... no, rather, she felt incredibly bad about it and did her utmost best to hide it, which turned out to be surprisingly well.

Todd looked at her, seated there on the with the blanket still wrapped around her. He almost wanted to take back what he'd said; he didn't want to leave her all alone down here. But he knew that claiming to stay now would only put them in an awkward situation. She'd probably never get to sleep with him three feet away anyway...not that they hadn't slept in close quarters before, but it'd definitely be new to her.

A warm smile came over his lips when she thanked him and he shook his head, stuffing his hands in his pockets. "No, thank you, Penelope," he murmured, with every ounce of sincerity he could muster. Because, even though he knew she couldn't remember him to the full extent, just spending time with her was enough to make his stressful day a bit brighter. "Thank you very much for your company." He bent in a slight bow then, before turning and jogging up to his dormitory, brain raging with way too many thoughts.

Penelope blushed a bit, smiling in return when he thanked her. She folded her hands together, mindlessly moving them as she occasionally did. She bit back a small laugh as he bowed, and she turned to watch him as he jogged up to his dormitory. "Good night," she whispered, already too late as he was gone.The silence was almost overwhelming at first. The slight crackle of the fire eventually made her turn her head away from the stairs to the boy's dormitory and stare down into the bright orange flames.

Penelope let out a sigh, leaning forward to put her head in her hands. Oh what an odd and slightly stressful day today had turned out to be. Penny didn't move until she heard a short mew coming from beside the couch. She peeked out from between her fingers to see her black cat sitting regal-like before her. She smiled, small prickles of tears coming to her eyes. "Oh, Sherlock," she let out in a breath as she reached down to pick him up.

She laid down, after placing her pillow back in its rightful spot, and covered herself with the blanket. Sherlock lay next to her, content as his tail swished and low purrs made small vibrations. She gently ran her hand over him, her eyes slowly closing until she had drifted off into the sleep that her body had been craving so desperately for.
