Speciality:
Penelope is very skilled in charms; memorizing the spells is an easy task for her, which also makes Defense Against the Dark Arts pretty easy as well. She’s an exceptionally bright young woman, despite her memory loss, and enjoys learning, making her do rather well in most classes (even those she’s not too particularly good at).

Limitations:
Pen is horrible with potions, as anybody can well see. She can’t seem to get the measurements right and they don’t end up how they’re supposed to. Currently, she’s a little too frightened to even go near the potions room, knowing enough of what had happened there. She’ll attempt it if she has to for class, but nothing more. Penelope cannot fly on a broom very well (she failed that class in her first year… but don’t ask about it, because she really hates to discuss it).

Personality:
From many people’s point of view, Penelope is a kind and caring girl who doesn’t have a bad bone in her body. However, while she is naturally polite (a trait that sometimes comes back and bites her in the butt), she is a relatively judgmental person. While she’ll smile at first meetings and every meeting to come, it does not necessarily mean that she likes a person.

Pen can be witty, with the occasional good comeback and sarcastic remark. However, she won’t act like this until she feels more comfortable around a person or if she’s showing off in a way. She’s very shy in nature, which can make it difficult to get to know her. She is often found stuttering and blushing when embarrassed, which is actually quite often. She’s also pretty much a goody-two shoes and hates to get into trouble of any kind.

Sometimes, if she finds she really doesn’t like a person, she’ll appear cold and distant, hardly replying to so-and-so’s statements or replying in an “I-don’t-particularly-care” sort of tone. It takes a lot for Penelope to not like someone, so she’s not like this all too often, but it’s perfectly normal.

Appearance:
Penelope Baudelaire stands at a height of five feet, three and a quarter inches tall. Her overall structure is petite, making her appear frail. While she is not excessively skinny, she’s not anorexic; she’s of a rather healthy weight for a woman of her age and height.

Penelope’s face is never over loaded with makeup, but rather enough to make her glow nicely. Her eyes, which are neither small nor large, are a sparkling blue color. Pen’s eyes normally show her emotions as if they were open books. They can strike like lightning or they can be as calm as the sea. Right below her right eye is a little scar that she got as a child from messing around.

Cascading down past her shoulders is Penny’s dark chocolate brown hair. Her hair tends to range from wavy to straight, depending on the day. Her hair is naturally wavy, but she likes to straighten it every now and then to shake things up.

Pen’s fashion sense flows more toward whatever makes her feel comfortable. She will not buy an outfit if she doesn’t feel comfortable in it nor will she buy one that is too revealing. She enjoys wearing dresses and skirts and will do so often, just as much as she wears her favorite pair of light denim jeans.

History:
Penelope Baudelaire was born on October 6th, 1996 just mere minutes after her twin brother Michael, to Winslow and Arabella Baudelaire. Penny and Mikey grew up in a normal muggle family with an elder sister named Willow. They grew up on Lion King and fine literature, the latter thanks to their father’s career as a professor.
When Penelope was two, her younger sister Isabelle was born, the fourth child in the Baudelaire family and just as loved. Penelope wasn’t quite as close to her sisters as she was her brother, but she ended up being a little closer to Isabelle than Willow.

2006 rolled around and life seemed to take a horrible, horrible turn. Arabella got sick with pneumonia. A few days before she died, she knew the end was near. She told her children that she loved them and would always be with them and before they knew it, she was gone. Winslow, devastated by this, moved the children to England. With everything moving so fast, it came as a shock when Penelope and Michael received their letters to Hogwarts; the first family wizards.

The years went by and life seemed okay. Only recently did Penny start making friends outside of her family. She met a nice young ravenclaw boy named Todd Cross and despite their initial dislike for each other and an unfortunate mishap at the lake, the two started dating. They were cute and innocent, but good things must always come to an end. As Penelope was trying to practice potions in an attempt to raise her grade, something went wrong and the potion exploded on her. She hit her head against the wall and lost all memories of her past – of her family… of Todd…

After a few weeks, she simply couldn’t handle it anymore and everything seemed so overwhelming. Winslow pulled his two children out of Hogwarts for Penelope to recover. Unfortunately, Winslow lost his job and in the meantime had to rely on his eldest daughter to help him get by. Penny tried to help, but was pushed away in hopes that she would focus more on getting her memories back.
Michael Baudelaire got a mundane wizarding job while trying to pass his tests outside of Hogwarts in hopes that he would graduate faster and move on to train to become an Auror. Once Penelope started to gain her childhood memories back, Winslow urged to put her back into Hogwarts. She initially protested, saying she’d rather help with the money problems and if Michael wasn’t going back, then neither was she. Michael, however, pleaded for her to go back. He knew she needed it and would never survive a simple job at her age; she still hadn’t had all her memories back and her yearn for knowledge was too much.

With that, Penny boarded the train and headed back to Hogwarts. Awaiting to see old friends she didn’t even remember and hoping to make new ones that she hoped to never forget.
