Speciality:
despite his appearance, he's actually quite smart. He tries extra hard at everything he does so he can get good grades and a better chance at the life he wants. He's good at defense against the dark arts, care and keeping of magical creatures, and any classes on muggles (he just uses them as an easy get by class so he has at least a little time to relax and unwind) he's also very good at the violin, but that's kept to himself. gotta keep up an image, you know?
Limitations:
He comes across as rather arrogant and is a bit of a skirt chaser. He's terrible at stating how he's feeling and often demands things of others. He's a bully, but mainly to take out frustration on being bullied himself. Fionn comes across as shallow, but it's on purpose. Right now he doesn't feel the need for a serious relationship or for a bunch of friends. He has serious trust problems and can be quite dangerous when angered. He is terrible at transfiguration and almost gave himself donkey ears when he was eleven.
Wand / Magical Items:
wand: an oddly-formed rosewood wand. The length is ten and three quarters inches long. The core consists of kraken beak.
An old Swiftstick the school allowed him to keep. It does act a little off sometimes, and has been known to drop him from terrific heights, but he likes it and it seems to suit him fine. Despite giving him broken bones now and then.
Personality:
rather standoffish and shallow on the surface, there is plenty more going on inside his head and he uses the fact that people think he's stupid to his advantage. He's headstrong and a bit of a bully, but is very defensive and kind of people he cares about. If you know him well he comes off as more of a "gentle giant" than anything. Just don't piss him off. If he counts you as a friend, you get to see the really goofy side of him. And there's plenty of it! He has been known to ballroom dance with dwarves in pubs, you know
he also has a deeprooted paranoia stemming from his childhood growing up with his deeply Protestant grandmother in the house who told him many stories about supernatural creatures.
Appearance:
he looks like a classic story book hunter, very tall and very muscular. He's got sharp blue eyes and raven black hair. He's got several scars from the more violent attacks he's had to deal with over the years, from both muggles and purebloods.
History:
Fionn comes from a large Irish family of 12 children. He has eight sisters and three brothers. So far he's the only magic user in the family. He's been the man of the house since he was six when his father walked out on the family after Fionn accidentally made the bread on the table levitate and fly around the room. His family is extremely poor and Fionn spends his holidays and summers working part time jobs to keep the family going. He almost didn't go to Hogwarts, seriously considering to decline the invitation, but his mother encouraged him to make something of himself. Because his father left, his grandma Norra came to stay with them, and made his life hell when his mother wasn't looking. She'd force him to bathe in holy water, sleep on an iron bed in the rain, among other things, in an effort to drive the evil out. It was also a punishment for him using and summoning 'the devil' into his life. Which, of course, he'd done no such thing. He is a beater on his house's Quittitch team
