Obviously working with magical creatures. With this comes a strong ability to heal, both creature and humans. She's also pretty good at Charms.
Limitations:
Transfiguration-She's just never been quite as good at it as everyone else. She's always wanted to become an animagus but never had the skill.
Her shyness- She'll do pretty much everything she's told just to avoid a conflict, this leads to her being "walked over" a lot by the other teachers.

Personality:
Quiet, Kind, and Gentle, a favorite teacher of the older students. They know she is someone who will listen to their problems. She's also very protective of those under her care and will do anything to protect them. Only when she feels her charges are being threatened/bullied will her stubborn self show.
Appearance:
about 5'8, bright blue eyes and short blonde hair, rarely wears makeup as she's always outside. Almost always has dirt, or fur on her clothing. She sometimes wears a bandana to protect her head from the elemens.
History:
Her mother left them when she was young, and to this day she doesn't know why. But her father was very loving, if a bit....eccentric (think lovegood). But she loved him despite his oddities. He did his best to take care of her, but with her mother gone and him well...him, she was left much to herself. Which is how she developed such a love of animals. A year after graduating hogwarts, she fell in love with one of her classmates and they were soon engaged. He was preparing to work for the ministry and she was looking for a job with anything to do with magical creatures. But...only 2 months before their wedding, he was found dead, eyes wide open, murdered. No one knew what had happened. She had a sort of mental breakdown then, and couldn't function. She stayed with her father, and kept completely to herself. But Dumbledore came to her and offered her the position for care of magical creatures. At first, still heartbroken, she refused. But her father convinced her to go. Lost again, amidst the love and affection of the creatures, she became her gentle self once more. But she was not unchanged. Her fiance's death left her extremely protective and even sharp at times when she sees anyone she cares about being threatened. So, gently and kind she may be, but don't. i repeat don't, mess with the ones she loves.
