Doesn't Matter If You Win Or Lose [Quiditch] Empty
PostSubject: Doesn't Matter If You Win Or Lose [Quiditch]   Doesn't Matter If You Win Or Lose [Quiditch] EmptyWed Oct 03, 2012 6:29 am

Tension and excitement filled the Hufflepuff Quiditch locker room, as the team began getting ready for what might be their last game of the season. Late spring meant many things for the players in that room as they got ready. For some it was near the end of the quiditch season of that year. For others the end of quiditch at school. But for all, it meant one thing for sure.

Rain. Lots and lots of Rain.

Even as they changed into their gear and spoken loudly amongst themselves, William could hear the pitter patter of the rain outside as the wind no doubt blew things about in a crazy manner. Nothing was worse than rain when it came to quiditch weather conditions. It made it harder to hold the quaffle, harder to keep steady on the broom. And certainly harder to see a bludger flying at you.

But even still, the excitement and energy he felt before every game was still the same. So what if there was a bit of rain? it was Scotland! Rain meant nothing! They could do this. he could do this! With a wide grin, he finished putting on his dragon-leather gloves and placed his goggles on top of his head. The sound of a whistle caused him, and the other team members, to turn their heads to look upon their captain for what may be the last time. Can't believe he's graduating this year. the Fifth year thought before focusing on the game plan and last minute you can do it speech.

"Remember what we practiced! Ravencalw may be good at strategy, but we got teamwork down better than they can ever hope." At this William and several others hollered happily. "Chasers, get the quaffle in as many times as you can. Lets rack up those points."

"Leave the scoring to us!" Will shouted, joy sparkling in his eyes. "You just focus on the snitch. That Grayson-Wayne kid's got some moves!" There were some murmurs of agreement while his captain puffed up his chest. A manner very similar to their house's animal. The speech was soon rapt up and the captain gave Will and expected look. With a pleased grin he opened his mouth and shouted. "What team!?"

"Hufflepuff!" the whole team shouted back.

"What team?"

"Hufflepuff!"

"Hufflepuff!"

"Get your head int eh game!" With that, the whole team hollered brightly before putting on their goggles and grabbing their brooms. It was show time.

Placing his goggles over his eyes, William began walking out of the locker room, stopping short when he spotted a thing figure not too far away standing shyly. With a grin, he ran ahead of the others to step in front of his boyfriend. He still couldn't believe he could say that about the blonde. Grinning, he looked down at the blushing boy as the other gave him his good luck wishes. Without thinking, he swooped down and pressed a quick kiss on the other's cheeks. "I'll do my best.' he said, before feeling someone tugging his collar.

"Come on lover boy, get your head in the game." William laughed at his captain's antics as the rest of the team gave him playful teasing and mentions of the good luck charm. When all joking was done, the mounted their brooms and flew onto the pitch. They all stood their positions as the captains shook hands. Blue eyes scanned the roaring crowds as the rain fell heavily on them. But it was impossible to see Tony. But he knew he was there, watching and wishing him luck.

He wasn't going to disappoint.

The whistle blew and the quaffle thrown into the air. William set flying instantly, reaching out for the ball as the Ravenclaw chaser did the same. He barely beat the other to it, and held the ball close to his chest as he dove down and to the side to maneuver around the other. Already the ball was slick from the rain, but Will did his best to concentration on holding it as he dove between left and right to avoid the other team's chasers. Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted Nani open and ready for the ball. With a dive up and twist, he tossed the ball her way and watched her catch it wish ease.

He flew close to her tail, keeping enough space to not hinder her, while allowing easy access to the quaffle should she need to pass it. They were almost to the rings when she kicked it his way. he reached out to grab it, but he felt the ball slipping past his finger tips. In desperation, he brought his broom up and turned to barrel roll as his arm encased around the ball. When it was firmly in his wet grip, he urged his broom faster to the rings. The keeper watched him with a calculated eye, no doubt trying to predict where he would go. That was the thing about Ravenclaws, they liked to figure out and predict. William huffed quietly as he tried not to show through body language where he would aim.

Coming closer to the rings, he threw the ball up and spun his broom so that the end of it hit the ball off into the left ring. The keeper made a dash for it, but barely missed blocking it. As the announcer spoke of Hufflepuff's first score, Will felt a wave of pride. But it was squashed quickly as he dashed after the ravenclaw chaser that now had the ball. He had to keep his head in the game. A strong gust of wind hit him and several others, making them move back slightly. he felt his hands slip slightly, but tighten his grip as he dived down to swoop under the other chaser. Moving up quickly, he took the other by surprise and grabbed the quaffle. It was a bit of a struggle, but the wet ball made it easier to slide out of the other's grip. There was a small blessing with the accursed rain.

With the ball in hand, he quickly tossed it to Nani, and stayed by her aid as the others tried to take it. If there was one thing to say about Hufflepuffs, it was that they knew about teamwork. Which was just as important in the sport as anything else. A strange sound filled the air, and at first Will thought it was the wind. But it grew louder in sound, and at the corner of his eye he saw something hurdling towards them. "Nani dive!" he shouted, turning his broom down sharply in a nose dive, out of the corner of his eye, he saw Nani do the same as the Bludger moved through where they were at.

A sigh of relief filled him that they had made it in time. That relief was short lived when the quaffle was quickly passed to him, stumbling it in his hands a moment form his lack of focus. Head in the game. he scolded himself and urged his broom faster through the cold rain. He barrel rolled to the left avoiding a persistent Ravenclaw chaser as he returned to the rings once more. He tossed the quaffle to the center ring, but the keeper managed to hit it with her broom. William made a mad dash to reach for it before the other chasers had a chance, grabbing it and holding it close as the other team's chaser tried to get it from his hands.

He saw Nani opened once again and tossed it to her, the tan skinned girl hitting it with her broom and making it through the right ring. That was Twenty to nothing. With a wide grin, Will high-fived Nani before they both dashed for the quaffle. The two tagged team against the Ravenclaw who held it, Nani managing to retrieve it as William aided her in defense against the other chasers. Nani tossed it to Hufflepuff's other chaser, who spun into a nose dive before sharply turning back up into the air. William followed after, eyes looking about for sings of bludgers. The quaffle was tossed at him, and he caught it with ease before flying high up into the air. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Ravenclaw's seeker making a mad dash for something, no doubt the snitch. With new found determination, Will nose dived towards the rings, throwing it as hard as he could. The keeper shot up to stop it, but it slipped passed her fingers and made it through. With a loud cry, William pumped his fist into the air. That was thirty points.

"And Richard Grayson-Wayne has caught the snitch! Ravenclaw wins!"

William's joy was short lived upon that announcement, a groan leaving his lips as he flew down onto the ground. The others followed along with, heads fallen down while others frowned angrily. While Ravenclaw cheered victory, the defeated Hufflepuffs began to head for the locker rooms to change and warm up from the rain soaking. Tony stood waiting just outside of them, giving a sympathetic look to the team. With a small smile, William went up to him. "I don't care what the scores say." the blonde mumbled out, blushing all the while. "You guys did great today."

William's smile grew as he reached down to peck the other's lips, feeling better already. With a soft goodbye, he separated from the other and headed inside the locker rooms. "We'll get them next year!" he shouted out happily as he entered, causing some of his teammates to grin a bit and nod in agreement. "After all, we're what team!?"

"Hufflepuff!"

"What Team!?"

"Hufflepuff!"

"Hufflepuff!"

They all cheered happily, patting each other on the backs with exclamations how next year they'd take the house cup. yes, next year was a new season. They'd win for sure. And even if they didn't, Hufflepuffs had fun, and they stuck together. But we'll totally win next season. William thought with a cheeky grin, changing back into school robes and leaving to meet up with his boyfriend. We'll defiantly win.
