Jessica shuffled down the steps to the Gryffindor Common Room, rubbing her eyes and fastening the belt to her dressing gown. It was still dark outside, and so late that the fire had put itself out. However, at her presence, it started up again, lighting the room to reveal that there was no one there. She smiled slightly. Good. Some time alone.
Taking her favourite couch by the fireplace, Jessica stretched out her legs and stared into the fire, trying to distract herself.
